Announcement: Executive Order N-54-20 suspends deadlines for filing, noticing, and posting CEQA documents with county clerks

The State recognizes that due to the pandemic, some county clerk offices are currently closed to the public and thus are unable to accept filings and post notices as required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Pursuant to Executive Order N-54-20, signed April 22, 2020, deadlines for filing, noticing, and posting of CEQA documents with county clerk offices have been suspended for 60 days. Additionally, the Executive Order suspends for 60 days certain tribal consultation timeframes required by AB 52 (Chapter 532, Statutes 2014) governing when a tribe must request consultation and when lead agencies must begin the consultation process for an EIR, negative declaration, or mitigated negative declaration. Please refer to the CEQA page for more information.
