CPAD is a GIS inventory of all parks and other protected open lands in California (49 million acres, 14,000 named units owned by 980 agencies/organizations) - more information and download links are at www.CALands.org . The new edition of CPAD has major improvements in both data coverage and data structure, and comes with a completely revamped CALands.org web site. This update is the first of at least three that are supported by a grant to GreenInfo Network from the California Strategic Growth Council .
You can help improve the data by taking the online CPAD survey (start survey now ) and by submitting recommended changes to the data using the CPAD MapCollaborator , an online map wiki that makes reviewing CPAD data quick and easy (you can choose lands by agency to review, leave precise map notes and/or upload your own data using this application).
